Republicans have long argued that the legacy media simply does the bidding of the Biden White House. The Biden White House inadvertently showed it agrees with them.

After House Republicans opened an impeachment inquiry, a White House spokesman issued a memo to news outlets telling the media how to cover the story.

This defies belief. In America, the government isn’t supposed to be telling our supposedly free press how to cover the news. But then again, this is the administration that was caught censoring social media coverage of stories unfavorable to it.

Just as bad as the administration’s arrogant meddling is the media’s meek response. A free press worth its salt should have been outraged at any government official daring to tell them how to do their job. Instead, all we heard were the sounds of silence.

And that’s too pathetic for words.
