We all remember Lois Lerner, the IRS director who authorized the targeting of conservative organizations during the Obama administration. She retired with her full pension. In other words, they got away with it!

The Middle East has long been one of the most volatile places on planet Earth.

I mention it, of course, because of Iran’s recent attack on Israel.

Now the good news is this: This massive attack upon Israel was largely ineffectual.

But the fact remains: This was a direct attack upon Israel by the Islamic Republic of Iran. It was not undertaken by Iran through a proxy state or a proxy force, through shadow armies and shadow armed forces, shadow terrorist organizations—no this was Iran as Iran attacking Israel.

And: It was a massive attack. By American estimations, there were about 170 drones, 120 ballistic missiles, and about 30 cruise missiles that were sent with high explosives. 

History is right now developing before our eyes.

We are moving thus into a different historical epoch—when Iran has directly attacked Israel. 

Yes: Israel must respond. And our nation should fully support them as they do.

The circle of appeasers in the Biden White House have brought us nothing but a lethal combination of softly spoken words and an ever-present, always-controlling fear of escalation. 

“Appeasement” was a theory of the world we thought crushed by the events leading to World War II. But it lives on in the urgent entreaties of the United States in the wake of Iran’s attack on Israel, backed up by leaks to a compliant press, urging Israel to do nothing —nothing at all— after salvos of missiles and drones were launched at its people and of course to not close on the 5,000-10,000 armed terrorists and Hamas leadership hiding in Rafah. 

Those terror leaders are protected by the Blinkens, Sullivans and Shermans of the United States propping up an infirm president who can muster only an absurd admonition “don’t” and can’t deliver a speech from the Oval Office apparently. 

Scorn is the right response—and resolve to throw them all out in November.
