The U-S Department ot Homeland Security wants to know more about the messaging extremist groups use to influence followers.

Researcher have found that much of that messaging happens on social media.  

The National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education Center says it's basically "micro-blogging" -- using short, frequent posts to connect.
