• Orang Asli asks for audience with Sultan: The Orang Asli community are appealing to ruler Sultan Abdullah Ahmad Shah to reconsider his statement denying the existence of customary land in the state. This comes after 21 Orang Asli villagers were arrested in Rompin, Pahang after their attempts to dismantle a barricade at the entrance of what they call their customary land. • Efforts to curb elephant-human conflict in Johor: There have been a rise in elephants entering human activity zones. This has damaging consequences to both animal and humans. The government has set up several measures, including translocation operations and land allocation for elephant migratory routes. Is this enough?
