Going on vacation with someone sounds romantic until the flight gets canceled, someone’s hangry, the credit card declines, you haven’t had a bowel movement in five days, and suddenly the person you’ve been dating becomes a full-blown mammal.

This week, Emma is going down the rabbit hole about why traveling with a partner — or someone you’ve known for approximately 19 business days — is one of the fastest ways to figure out what you’re actually working with. Because travel doesn’t necessarily change a relationship. It reveals it.

From booking a trip on a FIRST DATE (yes, you read that right) to romantic trips that exposed some very unromantic truths, Emma gets into traveling too soon, manufactured intimacy, vacation love bombing, money, conflict, compatibility, and the dangerous little fantasy of cosplaying marriage in a hotel room.

The question isn’t whether it’s “too soon” to take the trip. It’s what you’re making the trip mean. But in Emma's POV — the answer is usually, "fuck it. Book the trip. Just don’t pack an imaginary relationship in your carry-on."

Emma's always been told she's, "too much" and now, she's done apologizing for it. From NY to LA and back again, she's lived a thousand lives and if there's anything she's learned, it's to be unapologetically yourself. Every Tuesday, Emma is getting raw and real about everything from f*ckups and breakups, thriving (and surviving) in your 20s and 30s, how to be the best version of yourself and so much more. So grab a drink, because we're going down the rabbit hole...
