In Duncan Garner’s show yesterday we heard from a caller who highlighted an issue many people face after going through a divorce - financial abuse through the legal system and forced to give up the fight as appeal after appeal is launched.
It comes as recent data found women are already up to $300,000 worse-off when it comes to KiwiSaver. In just two weeks submissions close for a new family court bill which sets to introduce a family court associate role to speed up the process - with advocates hoping those in the new role would actually be trained to recognise all kinds of abuse - such as financial.
Joining us now is someone who has been through almost a decade of divorce court proceedings herself, Auckland business woman Sarah Sparks.
