As of 2023, 66% of US households (86.9 million homes) own a pet… 85% of dog owners and 76% of cat owners consider their pets to be a member of the family.  In 2022, Americans spent $136.8 billion on pets (up 10.68% from 2021). Dog owners spend an annual average of $730 on their dogs, and a staggering $490 million is spent annually in the US on Halloween costumes for pets.
