Noteworthy news for today: demographics reveal stark trends that we could see over the next few years.  By 2050, the population is projected to reach 10 billion. More than half that increase will be concentrated in just 8 countries: Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Tanzania. Nigeria… will have more inhabitants than Europe and the US.  On the other hand, the population in the Western world — US and especially Europe — is dwindling.  What is causing these trends? Why are we seeing some parts of the world boom while others slump?
