Former Petra lead singer John Schlitt spends the full show with Tim today. Schlitt shares about his childhood, college years and first big band (Head East), including how as the band grew, John’s personal life spiraled into a life of cocaine and alcohol abuse. 

Fired by the band in 1980, Schlitt hit rock bottom and was on the brink of suicide. He shares how God got ahold of him (including the role his wife played), the laying down of the music, and the crazy path to becoming the new lead singer of Petra (replacing Greg X. Volz—Petra’s original lead singer—in 1986).
