We chat about his playing days, the challenges (and benefits) of being part of over a dozen organizations, and the craft of being a catcher. Kratz, who currently is part of the Phillies' broadcast team, also shares about how his faith in the Lord has been important both professionally and personally.

Actor Amin (pronounced "AY-men") Joseph also joins the show to talk about the new movie "The Royal" in which he stars. The film is based on the true story of Willie Mays Aikens, the former Kansas City Royals slugger who hit two home runs in two different games in the 1980 World Series (which the Philadelphia Phillies won 4 games to 2, of course :)). Unfortunately, Aikens' life tumbled into drug addiction and being sentenced to the longest prison sentence ever given to a professional athlete in a drug case. "The Royal" details the long journey of Aikens as, against all odds, he seeks to re-enter civilian life and redemption--with God's help--with his estranged family, friends, the game of baseball and with himself.

We cap off our show with yet another rousing rendition of "Now THAT'S Punny!"

Brant Hansen, national radio show host and author, calls in to discuss his new book The (Young) Men We Need: God's Purpose for Every Guy and How You Can Live It Out. Does being a man mean being athletic, driving a truck, and getting rich (or "getting girls")? Some may be confused about what it means to be a man or why it matters.

Hansen writes, "I'm here to answer a simple (but not simplistic) question: What are men actually supposed to do? This book is about a big vision for manhood. We men are at our best when we are 'keepers of the garden.' This means we are protectors and defenders and cultivators. This is the job Adam was given: keeper of the garden."

Both in the book and in our conversation, Hansen communicates in a down-to-earth, fun and focused way with much practical insight.

Rabbi Schneider, host of the "Discovering The Jewish Jesus" radio program (weekdays at 3pm on WFIL), joins the show today regarding his new book A Journey Into Divine Love: A Revelation of the Song of Songs. Rabbi Schneider considers this book his greatest contribution in writing to God's Kingdom so far. He shares how the Song of Songs (also known as the Song of Solomon) isn't just a poetic love story, but a prophetic message of God's love for His church, adding, "I have never been so touched in revelation of how beautiful He is, and how beautiful we as His people are to Him."

Bonnie Bartlett Daniels, award-winning actress known for her roles as Grace Snider Edwards on Little House on the Prairie, Lucille Taylor (mother of Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor on Home Improvement), and a number of other shows including St. Elsewhere, also spends a segment sharing about her new book Middle of the Rainbow: How a Wife, Mother, and Two-Time Emmy Winner Managed to Find Herself. She shares some of the difficult circumstances she endured earlier in life, as well as various aspects of her acting career, and the process of writing her memoir (including the audiobook version).
