Hour 4 (8.31) Mark Thompson is back on the air after fainting from dehydration and breaking his ankle — and he's got a bone to pick with the entire American service economy.

Here's the paradox: businesses are scrapping every dollar they can get, and customer service has never been worse. You'd think they'd roll out the red carpet. Instead, you get phone trees that go nowhere, AI chatbots that can't help, and frontline staff running on fumes. Mark gets into why the system is actually built to work this way.

Then the personal fallout — eight weeks in a boot on his right foot means Mark can't drive. Which raises the question that's going to light up the lines: is your spouse a good driver? Be honest. He's a Race X driver, apparently. It's a maneuver.

Plus, Mark went to weather school, and it opens up the big one — do weather guys hang out with each other? Chuck Street on traffic, Dallas Raines on weather, animated cartoon weathermen, and an entire industry devoted to making you excited about clouds. Tropical rain's headed in for Labor Day. And for the record, Mark was never wrong. Not once.

Finally: Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields festival packed 45,000 people into Irvine's Great Park and got rave reviews for the show. Getting out was a different story — fans say they were stranded in parking lots, walking miles looking for a ride, and eventually directing traffic themselves. Rodrigo picked the name because a daisy chain is about individual pieces linking into something strong and unbreakable. The exit route did not link.
