The El Niño emergency is for weather that isn’t even here yet: high tides, floods, winter storms, snow if it gets ugly. Nicolas Cage’s place on Malibu’s Sea Level Drive is already red-tagged after a sinkhole opened in front of it and blocked the street, plus there’s a new garage-door scam making the rounds. Timmy hits a live Rams–Giants update (no spoilers), then Newport’s vanishing beach: they’re hauling 200,000 cubic yards of sand — a football field 3.5 feet deep — from the West Newport river bottom down to The Wedge before the surf eats more coast.

Timmy is shopping for new flood insurance for his home. The crew (and the entire world) agrees that they are no fans of the exorbitant cost of home insurance, HOAs and special assessments.
