Hour 1 (10.27) Seawater swamped Redondo Beach’s International Boardwalk, and if your car sat in it, especially an EV, get it inspected. Plus: the FTC and 20 states, including California, sue Dollar General.

6:05: Commerce Casino manager David Misikian on how he and Tim met 29 years ago, and whether Conway was an angry drunk back then. He also lives near the flooded area and tells us what he’s seeing.

6:20: Saltwater corrodes your car fast and can short out an EV’s battery pack. Fire officials have warned that flooded EVs can catch fire days or even weeks later. If your car goes through these high tides, get it inspected as soon as possible.

6:35: The FTC and 20 states, California, sued Dollar General in federal court in Tennessee. They say shoppers were charged more at the register than the shelf or ad price from 2019 through March 2026, which drew nearly 30,000 complaints. Also: the eat-before-you-drink rule for skipping the hangover, the side-of-sour-cream story, and flip-flops versus Nauti USA sandals.

6:50: Unusually high tides pushed seawater onto the International Boardwalk at the Redondo Beach pier and into nearby businesses. Tides along the LA County coast ran 1 to 1.5 feet above predictions, and the San Pedro gauge set a new record of 8.02 feet.

Hour 3 (10.27) Record-breaking tides flooded homes in Sunset Beach, and Obama compared Trump’s White House makeover to a Cheesecake Factory opened by Saddam Hussein. Trump did not let it go.

8:05: Why are the tides this high? Blame the moon, plus warm El Niño water expanding the ocean. ABC7’s Chris Cristi flies over the damage in Sunset Beach and Crystal Cove. The San Pedro tide gauge set a new record of 8.02 feet, beating a mark from 2005, and Long Beach’s Peninsula neighborhood is bracing for more.

8:20: Jay-Z’s Roc Nation has helped run the NFL’s live music, including the Super Bowl halftime show, since 2019. Tim tells how he met his wife, and Sheron Bellio’s husband turns out to know his football. Plus: Obama’s Cheesecake Factory jab, and Trump’s reply that Obama “wouldn’t understand.”

8:35: The LA City Council voted 13-1 to put up to 50 enforcement cameras on DASH buses. Fines are $293 for blocking bus lanes and stops, with warnings only for the first 60 days. And Glendale Water & Power wants a nearly 50% rate hike to fix aging pipes, while residents gather protest signatures to block it.

8:50: The Milwaukee Brewers swept the Dodgers out of the NLCS and ended the 3-peat bid. Without a World Series in LA, the bars, restaurants and vendors that count on October baseball lose out.
