Hour 2 (8.13) One of the best hours in the Conway archive, and Jay Leno is only half of it. Jay walks Tim through the fire accident in his garage: how it happened, what he remembers, and the recovery that followed. It's the story people have asked about for years, told first-hand. He rewinds to the beginning — arriving in Los Angeles with nothing, chasing stage time, and the version of this city that doesn't exist anymore. Then it's pure Tonight Show. What it was actually like behind that desk during the biggest years in late night, the monologue grind, the guests — and the night he picked up the phone and called President Obama. Jay also gets into his Italian roots and why he flat-out refuses to ever have a statue made of himself. His reasoning is very Leno. Then the crew turns on Tim. Why Conway would never take the morning shift — an ambition conversation that gets a little too honest a little too fast. Plus, birth order: firstborn, middle child, baby of the family, only child, and what your slot in the lineup supposedly says about you. It nails everybody in the studio. And Mark closes it out with a cruise story that goes wrong in every way a vacation can go wrong. Don't book anything until you hear it. Relevant, irreverent, and the whole room in one hour. This is the Best of Conway.🎙️ The Tim Conway Jr. Show — weeknights 6–10PM on KFI AM 640 and everywhere on the iHeartRadio app. Jay Leno, Jay Leno garage fire, Jay Leno interview, Jay Leno Tonight Show, Jay Leno Italian, late night TV, Barack Obama, Obama phone call, birth order personality, firstborn traits, middle child, only child, cruise horror story, travel nightmare, Tim Conway Jr, Conway Show, Mark Thompson, KFI AM 640, best of Conway, Los Angeles, comedy legends, celebrity interview, LA radio, talk radio, iHeartRadio
