Andy’s in-studio guest tonight is Tom Carroll, the engaging host of the LA Times’ Instagram page “404,” serving up bite-sized, delicious chunks of all things Los Angeles. Andy’s been a fan since Tom’s “Tom Explores Los Angeles” days — he’s basically the millennial Huell Howser, a true local who started with tours and has never stopped showing off the city he loves.  

Tom highlights the IMAX 70mm print of Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, with a big call to bring back that down-and-dirty, sexy film experience over digital. His top hidden gem? The charming little Steamers train ride in Griffith Park. For the best martinis in town, he recommends Hermon’s in Highland Park and the classic Musso & Frank in Hollywood.
