A former teacher to the former South African Reserve Bank governor and Finance Minister, Tito Mboweni, says he was a very smart student who was dedicated to his studies.  Edgar Mushwana was a teacher at Bankuna high school where Mboweni matriculated. Mboweni passed away after a short illness at a hospital in Johannesburg on Saturday. He was aged 65.

The National Prosecuitng Authority will no longer pursue the case against former Sports, Arts & Culture Minister, Zizi Kodwa and his co-accused, ex EOH Executive, Jehan Mackay. This after the charges against the two were withdrawn following representations the pair made to the Director of Public Prosecutions. The former Minister was charged with violating the Prevention and Combatting of Corrupt Activities Act and the Prevention of Organised Crimes Act for allegedly soliciting bribes worth one-point-seven million rand in exchange for government kickbacks from Mackay. President Cyril Ramaphosa says a new plan by the government to visit provinces in the 7th administration will outline a clear path towards the improvement of service delivery. Ramaphosa together with several cabinet ministers have conducted a first meeting of its kind with members of the Limpopo Executive Council in Polokwane. The meeting marks the beginning of a series of engagements between the president and province to enhance inter-governmental coordination. Mahlatse Phaladi compiled the report as brought by Amukelo Ngobeni.

A Limpopo police officer charged with the murders of her relatives for insurance payouts is back in court this morning for her bail application. She allegedly claimed R10-million in payouts for the deaths of 6 people she allegedly fraudulently insured. Kutumela faces charges of murder, fraud, money laundering, and defeating the ends of justice. Ntwanano Vuma spoke to our reporter Pimani Baloyi
