There has been some confusion and disruption at some National Lottery outlets in Gauteng as Ithuba takes over under a new temporary license. This follows the announcement of a last-minute deal to run all lotteries and sports pools from the 1st of this month. In a surprise move on Saturday night Trade and industry minister Parks Tau issued a statement saying that iThuba Holdings had been issued a temporary licence for the next 12 months. This was in a bid to avoid the suspension of ticket sales as the incumbent iThuba's contract expired on the same day.
