Gauteng taxi operators have withdrawn threats to embark on a province-wide strike. This follows a meeting between taxi associations SANTACO, NTA and Gauteng Roads and Transport MEC Kedibone Diale-Tlabela in Pretoria yesterday. The meeting came after concerns were raised by the taxi industry that their working relationship with the MEC had broken down.  Following the meeting between the two taxi associations and MEC Kedibone Diale-Tlabela, the MEC reaffirmed the provincial government's commitment to working with the taxi industry. Previously, taxi operators alleged that the MEC was bypassing provincial and regional leadership structures by engaging directly with individual operators when issuing licences. SANTACO, says the two sides have identified their challenges and will work towards resolving them and the National Taxi Alliance, NTA, has welcomed the meeting and says it will work towards resolving the outstanding issues.For more on this story with an update on the meeting, we are now joined by Mr Theo Malele from the National Taxi Alliance..........
