The bail application of eight people accused of insurance fraud related killings has been adjourned to next week Wednesday in the Polokwane magistrate's court in Limpopo. They allegedly killed nine people over the years. One of the defence lawyers, Mashudu Kwinda told the court not to consider evidence of the investigating officer, Captain Keshi Mabunda. According to Kwinda - Mabunda's credibility is questionable as he already has taken the position that the accused are guilty on all the charges. Okhetwa Thenzheni and his older brother, Akonaho Siphugu, will be laid to rest today on Saturday (13/06/2026).Their funeral will be at Madabani outside Louis Trichardt in Limpopo this morning. The two siblings died after eating food mixed with poison allegedly by their mother, Thelma Siphugu, last week.  Siphugu has been arrested and is facing two counts of murder. INTRO:On Sunday, thousands of runners will line up for the grueling Comrades marathon from Durban to Pietermaritzburg. In South Africa, the two biggest blockbusters on the road running calendar are ultra-marathons. In April, runners tackle the 56km Two Oceans Marathon. Then in June comes the big one: Comrades. Depending on the route, Comrades normally measures somewhere between 85km and 90km, varying slightly each year. For 2026, the official route will measure 85.77km. Among those taking part are runners from SABC Limpopo.
