Consumers are facing a severe cost of living crisis due to another significant increase in fuel prices. The Mineral and Petroleum Resources Department has confirmed a staggering hike in the price of fuel with effect from midnight on Tuesday. The retail price for all grades of petrol will surge by three-rand-27-cents per litre. But the real shock comes with the price of diesel whose users are looking at a historic spike of six-rand-19-cents per litre. The price of illuminating paraffin is set to rise by four-rand-22-cents a litre, hitting low-income families the hardest as winter sets in. Gas will increase by five-rand-seven cents.
