The IEC says it will redouble its efforts to get eligible voters to register for the upcoming local government elections. President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the polls will be held on the 4th of November. The Electoral Commission says it is critical that people register and do so in the ward of the voting district where they live. There is no provision in these polls to vote anywhere else. Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Masego Sheburi says the IEC will be launching its election campaign later this month.
