The Ubuntu Community Engagement at the University of Venda will host a campaign to raise awareness about gender-based violence (GBV) as part of the 16 Days of Activism
Against GBV, which runs from 25 November to 10 December 2024. This campaign aligns with the national initiative in South Africa. The event is organized in collaboration with various institutions, governmental and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The Africa Organisation Report of South Africa indicates that 51% of South African women have experienced GBV in their lives, while 76% of men admit to having perpetrated GBV.
