The SACP 5th Special National Congress has gotten underway in Boksburg east of Johannesburg. 
At least 70 delegates including members of the tripartite alliance and invited guests will attend the four-day meeting.  The Communist gathering will assess the implementation of the party's resolution since its 2022 national congress with the view of finalizing its 2026 local government election strategy.
