The Lebombo border post linking Mozambique and South Africa remains closed following the spilling over of violent protest into the Ressano Garcia area which is on the Mozambican side of the border. The Commissioner of the Border Management Authority, Michael Masiapato, says the decision to close the border followed the burning of buildings and the vehicles of Mozambican order officials. EFF leader Julius Malema has hit out at Kwazulu Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi saying he should not implicate him in Mhwanazi's fights with Police Crime Counter-Intelligence head, Feroz Khan. Malema was speaking at his party's National Voter Registration Launch at Ghandi Square in Johannesburg. Khan, who Malema says he knows, has been mentioned in various testimonies at the Madlanga Commission as having ties to businessman Brown Mogotsi who  allegedly has ties to criminal activities. Malema has been implicated for allegedly manipulating a Tshwane Municipality security tender in 2024 at the Commission.  Mixo Mashimbye u burisanile na  mutivi wa nawu Nkul Gezani Maluleke.
