INTRO:
Civil rights organisation, NotInMyName International has called on government to declare gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF) a national emergency. The renewed calls follows the shooting of two women, Tshiamo and Baleseng Moramaga in Pretoria over the weekend. The women, aged 22 and 21, were found dead on the side of the road with gunshot wounds to the head in Mamelodi East, Extension 17. The motive for the shooting is not yet known however, a 38 year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murders.According to Gauteng Police, the suspect is expected to appear in the Mamelodi Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
