The Mpumalanga Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport has announced the closure of several roads in the province which have been affected by the ongoing rain. The province has experienced heavy rainfall from New Year's Eve. Roads, bridges, schools, houses and electricity infrastructure have experienced damages.
