Crime levels have reached an alarming rate at Hovheni Village in Julesburg, Limpopo, just outside of Tzaneen. It is believed that criminals went on to attack numerous families in the area last night, injuring others with bullets. According to the reports this is not a first incident to happen in the area. Labour unions at Eskom are heading back to their members this week to seek a mandate following a tense fourth round of wage talks. On Friday, the utility tabled its final offer of a seven percent salary increase. This comes after months of deliberation at the Central Bargaining Forum, where the National Union of Mineworkers, the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa and Solidarity originally demanded a 15 percent hike, alongside improved benefits. The current three-year wage agreement is set to expire in June.

Parliament has confirmed that the African Transformation Movement has lodged an impeachment motion request against President Cyril Ramaphosa with National Assembly Speaker, Thoko Didiza. This flows from the release of a report by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate flagging the conduct of two senior SAPS members who probed the theft at the President's Phala Phala farm in Limpopo. The ATM believes this brings the President's conduct closer to a cover up conducted by the senior police officers, who included in Head of Security General Wally Rhoode.
