INTRO : Action SA president Herman Mashaba says it is a sad moment in the country's history to see a democratic government prepared to flout its own policies to accommodate billionaire businessman Elon Musk's Starlink company. President Cyril Ramaphosa led a delegation which included business people such as Johan Rupert to the US earlier this week. Rupert is reported to have told Musk that his company's services were needed to help to fight crime in South Africa. Mashaba says they will oppose Communications and Digital Technologies, Solly Malatsi's gazetted proposed amendments to the triple-BEE policy in the ICT sector to accommodate Musk's company.
