FOCUS: The Presenter Interviews Dr Albert Jeleni, about ICCI's views & reaction on the Limpopo 2026/2027 budget tabled today by finance MEC, Kgabo Mahoai.
INTRO: Limpopo's Finance MEC, Kgabo Mahoai says the province has made progress in supporting local businesses, especially those owned by women and the youth. He also says that more needs to be done to support businesses owned by people with disabilities and the military veterans. Nine billion rand has been allocated for infrastructure development in Limpopo for the 2026/27 financial year. The overall budget now sits at over 95 billion rand. Meanwhile, the provincial economy still faces negative growth prospects in the short term. The province still struggles to create jobs for a significant part of the youth population, despite a drop in the official unemployment rate to just above 28 percent.
We welcome On-Air the President of Limpopo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr Albert Jeleni
