INTRO: North West businessman, Suliman Carrim, has testified before the Madlanga Commission, that he claimed to have a relationship with Police Minister, Senzo Mchunu, in order to secure the money he alleges was owed to him by alleged cartel member, Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala. Carrim attributed this strategy to fellow North West businessman, Brown Mogotsi. However, transactions before the probe, show that a third of the R1.5 million Matlala first paid to Carrim, went to Morgan Maumela - raising eyebrows at the commission. Carrim began his evidence in public after his in-camera testimony bid was refused.
