INTRO: The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) has returned 1.7 billion rand to the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). The amount is part of the 2 billion rand the SIU has so far received from universities, TVET Colleges and unqualified former students. An amount of 120 million rand was recovered from parents of unqualified beneficiaries. NSFAS has urged parents whose children have received funding but do not qualify, to contact the SIU to make arrangements as investigations continue.

INTRO: Twenty five vehicles have been impounded in two traffic operations by the The Limpopo Department of Transport today.  Transport Department spokesperson, Matome Taueatsoala says officers inspected 86 vehicles and impounded ten of them in Thabazimbi.  Thirteen summonses were issued for various offenses.  Taueatsoala  says fifteen vehicles were impounded at Ga-Mphahlele.   He says the operations are aimed at ensuring road safety.

INTRO: Prepaid consumers are set to benefit, after the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa amended the rules on mobile data bundle expiry. From the 23rd of January next year South Africa's telecommunications companies will be required to allow consumers to roll over unused mobile data bundles. ICASA gazetted the new regulations on Friday, that provide for at least one rollover on the same terms as the original bundle. ICASA Councillor Dikeledi Catherine Mushi has cautioned that bundles for seven days or less, including uncapped as well as free and promotional bundles will be excluded.
