The eThekwini Municipality says preparations for the 98th Comrades Marathon are in full swing. The biggest sporting event on the South African calendar is scheduled for Sunday. This year it will be a down-run from Pietermaritzburg to Durban. The city's Gugu Sisilana  says they have activated a comprehensive operational plan to ensure a spotless and welcoming environment for the ultra-marathon. Our colleague Jabulani Baloyi will be running Comrades Marathon yet again, and Sesi Patricia Nxumalo and they both joins us in studio to tell us more on their preparation journey

INTRO: Seargeant Fannie Nkosi -- a member of the Special Operations and Investigations Team -- has disputed an assertion made by suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner, General Shadrack Sibiya, about the arrest of entertainment blogger, Musa Khawula. Nkosi has previously testified that General Sibiya instructed him to forward Khawula's arrest warrant to attempted murder accused, Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala. But, General Sibiya disputed this in his testimony. Nkosi was also questioned about his relationship with businessman, Ze Nxumalo. Nxumalo is believed to have close links to members of the big five cartel. Sibahle Motha reports....

INTRO: After years of struggling with low water levels due to drought and limited rainfall, there is finally some good news for residents in parts of Limpopo. The Middle Letaba Dam now known as N'wamanungu Day in the Mopani District is now reportedly full to capacity, something that has not happened in several years. The development could bring relief to communities that depend on the dam for water supply, agriculture and economic activities. But questions remain about how this will translate into improved water provision for residents, many of whom still face intermittent supply.

INTRO: President Cyril Ramaphosa has committed his administration to drastically reduce road fatalities. He was speaking at the Inaugural National Transport Conference in Midrand, north of Johannesburg. The three-day gathering attended by Transport Minister, Barbara Creecy, and her deputy, Mkhuleko Hlengwa, brought together decision-makers, investors and innovators to engage on how to build a sustainable transport system that works for the economy and job creation. It also saw attendees from some countries in the SADC region, including Mozambique and Tanzania.
