Thousands of Mkhonto weSizwe Party supporters are expected to attend the party's first-year anniversary celebrations at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium this weekend. Led by former President Jacob Zuma, it was barely 5 months old when it shook up the country's political landscape. In May's general elections, the party obtained the most votes in KwaZulu-Natal with 45 point 3 percent. But it could not govern alone with an outright majority, forcing the formation of a government of provincial unity. The party holds 58 seats in parliament.
