Gauteng Economic and Finance MEC, Lebogang Maile, says the budget is designed to focus on addressing frontline services and responding to the provincial priorities outlined in the Gauteng Medium Term Development Plan and the Gauteng 13-priority plan. INTRO: South Africa has recorded positive economic activity in the fourth quarter of 2025 increasing by zero-point-four percent, following a zero-point-five percent increase third quarter of last year. The latest GDP data released by Stats SA was largely in line with analysts expectations. Full-year growth for the economy expanded at a faster pace, growing by one-point-one percent last year compared with zero-point-five percent in 2024. Meanwhile industries such as agriculture, finance and personal services grew positively while manufacturing and electricity, gas and water grew in the negative.
