INTRO:
Tzaneen and Mashashane are the worst hit in Limpopo amid power outages in many parts of the country linked to the inclement weather. Eskom has confirmed that adverse weather is the cause of the outages. The worst affected provinces are Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape and the Free State. Eskom says there has been a surge of faults nationwide. The power utility says the extent of the damage and estimated period for restoration is not known at this stage. Electricity supply has been cut-off to various areas in Tzaneen, Limpopo, following storms and hail. Meanwhile it is reported that Eskom says its two sub-stations have been damaged. The areas affected include Nkowankowa, Lenyenye, Dan village and Muhlava. In a statement, Eskom says the extent of the damage and estimated period for restoration of power is not known yet. People are advised to treat all electrical connections as live. For more with an update, we are now joined by Brian Ndubane from the power utility, ESKOM
