INTRO: Livestock farmers and small scale farmers in areas such as Dzumeri, Mphagani and Dhambi in the Greater Giyani area in Limpopo have reported damage due to persisting heavy rains. Farmers say there has been damage to crops, grazing land and irrigation systems. The Giyani area has been experiencing disruptive rainfall since Monday.

President Cyril Ramaphosa visited Tshakhuma in the Vhembe district and Mbaula village outside Giyani in the Mopani district, to see the extent of flood damage. Premier Phophi Ramathuba has also addressed a media briefing in Polokwane, on the government intervention.
