INTRO: As Minister Enoch Godongwana is expected to deliver the National Budget Speech this afternoon, a collective of Cape Town activists are calling on the National Treasury to implement an additional tax on top of the regular 'Sin Tax' on alcohol. The activists, under a campaign from the Southern African Alcohol Policy Alliance (SAAPA), say this will limit excessive spending on alcohol in communities. The alliance's secretary-general, Aadielah Maker-Diedericks says the aim is to raise awareness about how alcohol abuse causes harm in communities.
