Collins Chabane Local Municipality was having a Municipality stakeholders Local Economic Development (LED) forum at the Municipality Civic Centre Hall. This is the engagement platform where ideas on socio-economic development are shared. The purpose of LED is to build up the economic capacity of a local area to improve its economic future and the quality of life for all. It is a process by which public, business and non-governmental sector partners work collectively to create better conditions for economic growth, employment generation and advocating for poverty alleviation.  .Tinyiko Maringa spoke to the Mayor of Collins Chabane Local Municipality, Cllr Shadrack Maluleke.

This important occasion is part of Human Rights Month 2026, which is commemorated under the theme: "A Legacy of Courage: Protecting Rights, Preserving Humanity."  As we reflect on the significance of human rights, it is essential to recognize and include all members of our society, especially those living with disabilities. Their voices and rights are integral to the fabric of our collective humanity, and it is our shared responsibility to foster an environment of inclusion, dignity, and equal opportunity for everyone.
