Zechner explains how his proprietary scorecard—which grades monetary conditions, economic growth, corporate profits, valuations, and investor sentiment—flagged the market bottom in March 2009 (+7) and warned ahead of the late 2018 drop (-4). With the reading now sitting at -3, he breaks down why he is prioritizing cash flow, defense backlogs, gold, and healthcare.

In this episode, we cover: • The 5-point macro scorecard: Why narrow AI growth, stretched valuations, and euphoric sentiment are flashing caution • How a cautious investor can still own tech: The valuation and cash flow case for Microsoft • 5 defensive stock ideas—spanning software, defense simulation, gold mining, sports/telecom assets, and Canada's record-setting GLP-1 generic drug IPO—paired with Bloomberg analyst data
