The Blackhawk Area Council of Boy Scouts is celebrating their 25th Anniversary of Sporting Clays for Scouts September 6th and 7th at Camp Lowden in Oregon, Illinois. In the segment, we talk with organizers Jake Dykstra and Alice Roby, and outline the who, what, where and when of the event.

Mayor Tom McNamara joins us to recap the opening of the new Hard Rock Casino and outlines what the addition to our city signifies. He stated it’s more than a casino, it is just one of the many developments in our area that now drives tourism. In addition, the new train systems, the renovations of buildings downtown, and the new “World’s Largest Telescope" all are reference points to our growth. He wraps up outlining the swearing in of new Police Officers.

In this segment, Executive Director Rockford Taylor Adolphson outlines the who, what, where and when for the September 14th 2024 ALZ Walk to End Alzheimer's at Sportscore One. Goal is $95,000 after last year raising $80,000.00.  Rockford is one of 600 locations hosting a Walk to End ALZ in 2024.

In this segment, Counselor Mark Honzel, a former 21 year Police Officer and current Greg Lindmark Foundation Resource Therapist, discusses the process of obtaining help through the Greg Lindmark Foundation for First Responders and why more information about mental health awareness is critical.

Tim, an Air Force Veteran who served 16 years, discusses his child getting cancer, and why he is challenging all fitness enthusiasts, Veterans, and runners to be a difference making for kids with cancer.
