National Carers Week is underway, an important week encouraging Australians to recognise and honour the contributions of carers across the country. New research from Little Dreamers Australia has surveyed several hundred Young Carers and families to better understand their situation and provide practical steps so public services can keep helping them. The findings revealed caring often begins by age eight and nearly one in four young carers reported receiving no mental health support, with cost remaining a barrier.
