Tuesday turned the focus to community media with the observed day highlighting the importance of the sector.  

Community Media Day began in Brooklyn but has since spread globally raising awareness around the role the sector plays in platforming community voices, grass roots activism, disseminating ideas and generating important social discourse.

Here in Australia, community media has been running for 54 years with the sector seeing several changes over the decades.
