With the Israeli elections only a fortnight away, the first election since the October 7 attacks plunged the Middle East into turmoil, there is the possibility that Israel’s longest serving prime-minister Benjamin Netanyahu is about to face his biggest electoral challenge.
But finding a way to navigate a highly polarised Israeli electorate is going to be a complex challenge, with the winner of the election likely to be reliant upon the results of minor parties, as both Benjamin Netanhayu and his main rival Gadi Eisenkot try to cobble a coalition to govern.
I look into the forces shaping the Israel election and whether we can expect much change if Israeli’s longest serving prime-minister is swept from power.
