President Donald Trump and many in the national media continue their rocky relationship. Filled with contempt, their rhetoric may be good for ratings on cable tv and may help the president gin up his base for re-election. But the lack of civility keeps us a safe distance from having the conversation we must have as a country. Such contempt also allows both ends of the political spectrum to raise billions of dollars in campaign cash, but that money won't buy us a better nation.
