This month works the anniversary of President Bush finding the Americans with Disabilities Act into law. Writer and digital activist Kia Brown created the viral hashtag disabled and cute to show the world that just because somebody has a disability doesn't mean they can't love their body, but they aren't desired, and that they can't be cute. I just woke up that morning and I was like, we still feel so good about ourselves. It's time to celebrate now. If you know anything about me, I'm very online and so I was like, I'm gonna celebrate on Twitter, and um, I'm gonna do so with the idea that I'm both disabled and cute. So I was like, oh, I like the way that sounds disabled and cute, not either.
