With a few hours before the 2026 Local Government Elections are officially proclaimed, eligible South Africans are running out of time to register to vote or update their voting details. Once the election date is proclaimed, the voters' roll closes immediately, meaning anyone who is not registered or whose address is outdated could lose the opportunity to vote in November's local government elections.
