This week saw the National Inquiry on GBVF get underway. President Cyril Ramaphosa has pledged a renewed push to tackle gender-based violence and femicide, including addressing weaknesses in the criminal justice system. The National Inquiry on GBVF says it will closely monitor whether these commitments are actually implemented and whether they make a difference to victims and survivors.
