South Africa's High Commissioner to India, Anil Sooklal, has been recalled to Pretoria after photographs emerged showing him at a religious event alongside former President Jacob Zuma and alleged state capture mastermind Ajay Gupta. the Department of International Relations and Cooperation is proposing a new mandatory disclosure framework that would require former presidents and deputy presidents seeking diplomatic and protocol support to fully declare the purpose of their trips, funding sources, planned engagements and hosts.
