Former President Jacob Zuma has been discharged from hospital after more than a week under medical supervision, with the MK Party saying he was suffering from fatigue. His hospital stay also saw the party cancel its Siyathatha Rally, where it was due to launch its local government election manifesto.

Former Presidents Thabo Mbeki and Jacob Zuma are expected to appear before the TRC Cases Inquiry on 19, 20 and 22 October. The inquiry is investigating alleged political interference and delays in prosecuting apartheid-era crimes.
