1.DR Kongo- USA - Deportees from Latin America have arrived in Kinshasa from the U.S. under the Trump agreement. After being deported from the United States, around 15 people touched down in the Democratic Republic of Congo's capital, Kinshasa, this past weekend. 

 

  1. Angola – Italy- Pope Leo XIV - Pope Leo XIV arrived in Angola this past weekend, opening the third leg of his four-nation tour across Africa, with a message focused on hope, peace, and social justice. His plane landed in Luanda after departing Cameroon, where he celebrated Mass before an estimated 200,000 worshippers in the capital, Yaoundé.

 

3.South Afrika – Benin- France - Pan-Afrikanist activist Kemi Seba, who was arrested in South Africa last week, faces extradition to Benin as the case resumed today in Tshwane. Local, Continental and International Context: No extradition agreement between South Afrika and Benin unless an exception is created. 

  

4.In our historical archives, it was on this day, 20 April 2018, that the Missing Persons Task’s Team (MPTT), which emerged as a recommendation after the conclusion of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) in 1996 in its Final Report, announced that they have uncovered the remains of 138 missing persons, but this number increases every month.
